My love for sports started early, but that is a familiar story for many aspiring broadcasters. What set me on a unique path was discovering a passion for reporting at a young age. I attended Hofstra University's summer sports broadcasting programs for several years, which sparked my interest and gave me a strong foundation in the industry. While there, I began developing essential broadcast skills, including on-camera reporting, broadcast-style writing, and Adobe Premiere editing.
In high school, I served as the public address announcer for Garden City High School, covering football, basketball, and lacrosse for all four years. I also gained hands-on experience broadcasting games for Varsity Media, a local sports media outlet based on Long Island. My roles ranged from camera prep to play-by-play broadcasting and color analysis, giving me early responsibility and real-world experience running live broadcasts and PA announcements.
After graduating, I enrolled at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, where I am majoring in Broadcast and Digital Journalism with a minor in Political Science. At Syracuse, I have reported across multiple platforms, including The Daily Orange, the nation's oldest student-run newspaper, and NCC News, Newhouse's student-run TV and radio station.
Through NCC News, I have taken on a wide range of newsroom roles, including producer, anchor, writer, reporter, editor, and photographer. Working on one of the premier on-campus news shows in the country has allowed me to experience a professional newsroom environment that closely mirrors what I will encounter after graduation.
Alongside my academic experience, I have interned with several incredible organizations and professionals. I was fortunate to intern with Bruce Beck of NBC Sports New York and was named Assistant Director of his renowned sports broadcasting camp at Iona University. In this role, I worked closely with Bruce to ensure the camp ran smoothly while helping young broadcasters build a strong foundation in the craft. I have also worked with Foul Territory, a leading baseball media company, where my responsibilities included research, content creation, and assisting with daily live podcast streams as part of the Make Plays Media team.
I was also selected to join the Maccabi USA Media Team, combining my passion for sports reporting with my Jewish heritage. Although the games were postponed due to war, I produced content leading up to the event, including written pieces and short-form video content. While disappointed that the games were moved, the experience and mentorship I gained proved invaluable.
I am set to graduate from the Newhouse School in May 2026 and am excited to bring everything I have learned into the professional world. While sports remain my dream career path, I am open to wherever journalism takes me, driven by curiosity, passion, and a commitment to impactful storytelling and meaningful relationships.
